From Reunited Cats to Star Trek to Mickey Mouse to Emancipated Chimps…it’s a Weird News Day
Top to bottom: SnowBee, Fungus, Binky.
Well, I’m pleased to say my cats are all friends again. They are old cats so that’s why I used the soft focus and the sepia tone filter. It’s quite a heartwarming sight if one is into that sort of things. In other cat news, better pictures of Dick Cheney’s cat have been obtained by one of our agents in the field and will be going up shortly. Plus there’s rumours of evil rabbits in the White House, it just gets weirder and weirder.
The headline weird news today is that they lost Scotty’s ashes. Yes, Scotty of Star Trek. He died. They sent his ashes on a short rocket flight into space, along with a lot of other folks who thought it would be cool to have their ashes sent into space. And now the rocket has crashed in the Mountains somewhere and they can’t find it. Oops. I’m sure there’s an almost infinite number of lame Star Trek jokes in there somewhere, but I will leave that to the reader’s imagination.
In Palestine, the Hamas’ Mickey Mouse show is back on the air. It’s a cartoon show for kids on the West Bank and Gaza that urges them to hate the occupation and fight Israel. Oh Dear God. What a surprise, some Jews teach their children hatred, some Christians teach their children hatred; now we have a fine example of some Muslims doing the same. The sad thing is that the parents of all of the above are convinced that it is the other side doing the indoctrination…they’re just teaching their own children the “truth.” On the plus side, peaceful Christians, Jews, and Muslims deplore all of the above. As do I.
And if the above wasn’t nuts enough, now we are going to invite the chimpanzees to join us. Yes, an attempt is being made to grant a chimpanzee in captivity in Germany human rights. Well, we do share about 99% of our DNA. We swapped genes as little as five million years ago. Chimps and humans could probably produce offspring, though fortunately that’s an experiment that’s never been tried. I hope. Frankly considering how humans all too frequently act, you’d think the trend would be the other way. I’m sure some folks will get all hissy about this, but always somebody somewhere getting hissy about everything. Otherwise we’d be no better than ants, and bloggers would have nothing to blog about.
Have a great day everyone, tomorrow…my plan for ending the War on Terror.
