Happy Fourth of July

with 4 comments

Happy Fourth of July American readers. The founders hated and feared organized religion and its toxic effects on politics, they were dead set against standing armies for the same reason, and they were adamantly against the USA getting involved in foreign alliances and wars. I celebrate their sacrifice in our name, and cast shame on those who invoke their memory to support what they gave their lives to prevent.

  1. My sentiments as well… I enjoy reading your posts and hope that I might share with you and your readers a video I created two months ago. Happy Fourth of July America the Beautiful!!

  2. While driving to the obligatory 4th of July party, I drove past the Genentech facility in Vacaville CA. The fences were decorated with hundreds of little ‘USA flags’ that were made in China.

    Good nite !

    Game over…

It was nice while it lasted.

Meanwhile Americans think they are buying $3.80 a gallon gas, not realizing that the cost of WAR is subsidizing it… real cost $15.00 (not including lives lost).

America = ‘the land of the self deluded’

Americans = ‘a population who’s economic inertia ended years ago, who now must believe in complete BS just so they can sleep at night’

  3. You’re thinking of the anti-federalist founding fathers. Don’t forget that many of the founding fathers were federalist and supported the creation of a standing army. Oh, and let’s not forget that they started the War of 1812 to annex Canada. Guess stuff wasn’t so great back then either.

    • They weren’t spending more than the rest of the planet combined on their military, nor were they waging colonial wars in half a dozen countries on the other side of the globe. And of course the Federal government wasn’t the bloated all-encompassing monster it is today. As for the invasion of Canada, there were many reasons for that, including Britain impressing US sailors on the high seas, and the mistaken belief that Canada was the “14th colony” and the Canadians would welcome the chance to be “liberated” from their British rulers. They also didn’t have an income tax, the constitution had to be amended to allow that. I stand by my argument, the founding fathers wold be appalled at what the federal government has become today. Thanks for commenting. :) — Doug
